Tea...

Some of my favorites:

Earl Grey

Yorkshire Gold, an English export (a mix from Sri Lanka, Africa, and India) deep strong black tea, "rich brown best with milk and sugar". I drink it straight, and altho it is harsh, I love it.

Cardmanon Cinnamon from The Republic of Tea. It also has ginger and tastes peppery to me. The flavor is warm.

My favorite is Green tea w/ lemongrass from Pickwick Tea, now a subsidiary of Sarah Lee. Its nice and light and seems motivatal, sits in the tummy well. It seems like a battle to get my hands on it from the outlet as there is a restaurant that buys it out everytime it is delivered. I now calculate and execute my aquisition of it. Since I cannot get any sort of workability to leave me a box or two when I get there first I buy all of it.

Very Snidely Whiplash, the things one must go through for the ultimate cup of tea. It's worth it.

I drink English Breakfast and peppermint tea most days.

I loved the one I used to drink to help with PMS.

Vanilla tea is quite nice, but I don't drink it often.

I like green tea with Japanese food, but I like miso much more.

I've tried some fruity teas, but they seem to smell better than they taste.

Ugh, I'm with you on that. Hibiscus/Berry teas can stick to the tongue too much.

I visited the Celestial Seasonings (in Colorado) factory the past summer. Saw how all sorts of tea are distributed into bags, etc. The "Peppermint Room" was intoxicating. Not sure if it was in a good way, though haha... Ambivalent. I do enjoy peppermint tea, depending on the mood.

I like to create my own combinations for tea and other ingredients (definitely including cardamom). I have a certain recipe, which all of my guests love and all of them request detailed knowledge of how to make it. It's a process, but really worth the effort. I like to keep it a relative secret B)

Gingerbread Spice by Celestial Seasonings is my all-time fav.

I thought they stopped making it, so was hoarding some old out-of-date boxes of it, and drinking it rarely, thinking I had to make it last the rest of my life (or until it was so stale it didn't taste good anymore). My fiance throws things out way before I do, and threw them all out once after forgetting that I'd asked him to keep them. I was really bummed until I Googled it and found out you can still get it online, yay! So he gave me a stash of it for Christmas, yay. I just had a cup. Yummy.

I recommend making it strong (2 bags in one cup), with creamer and sweetener. If you make it creamy and sweet, it tastes just like hot liquid gingerbread cookies, YUM.
I want to understand everything, try everything once, travel everywhere including through space and time, and solve all of the world's problems. I want it all! (In the meantime, settling for a good job and good friends....)

Oh man, I love gingerbread cookies! Gotta try this one day. Would you also recommend adding a dash of cinnamon, or will it have enough of that flavoring?

Wow. Interesting. My mom buys fresh ginger and boils it with cinnamon sticks and dried jujube fruits for like an hour then add brown sugar at the end. It's super strong ginger concuction and it leaves inside of my mouth burning but it's the best way to intake ginger goodness.

Regular teas I take plain and add nothing.

Me too! Gingerbread cookies are a big, addictive weakness of mine. I can't even buy them or I'll eat the whole bag. Ice cream is another weakness. You should have seen me when they had ice cream with bits of soft gingerbread cookies in it - danger!!!

The tea allows me to have my gingerbread yumminess without getting fat.

I recommend trying it as it is first, and then decide if you want to add anything.

Hmm, that sounds good, too....

Good plan. It's always good to try a tea without adding anything to it first. Gosh, you're a woman after my own heart. My weakness has always been ice cream, too! I've yet to try ice cream with gingerbread pieces though! What brand was that? was it a seasonal ice cream? *excited*

I looked for this is the supermarket the other day. None there.

Apparently health stores and alternative food stores stock that brand, so I'll be looking over the weekend.

Haha, yeah, I was excited when I found it!

Sorry to get you excited, though, it was seasonal at Thanksgiving and Christmas only. :( I don't remember what brand because I can't buy ice cream anymore, but I'll look in the isle next time to see if I can remember. I think it might have been Breyers, but not sure. :/

Hope you find it! Unfortunately, though, I think the tea was seasonal, too. I used to stock up on it at Christmas, and then one year they didn't have it, and I haven't seen it in a store since then. :/ If you donlt mind ordering online, you can get it that way, though. :) That's how I got my latest stash of it. :)

A friend of mine sent me some loose leaf teas- about 20 of them! I'm still working my way through. So far my favourite is far and away Monk's Blend which is a black tea with vanilla and grenadine. It's amazing. I'll have to try to remember the names of the green teas I liked... one was really good, but as I said- I've got 20 of them and I can't keep them straight. I also like me some chamomile. But when I was a kid, I used to take some earl grey and stick a freshly picked spring of mint into it and drink it just like that. Divine. Real!mint isn't at all like the dried stuff.

I didn't find it, but ordered a couple of boxes with my last Amazon order.

Just having my first mug now, for breakfast. I used one bag, and added a little bit of milk and sugar. It's deliciously spicy sweet and soothing, makes me feel like cosying up in front of a fire with a good book. It would be better for dessert than breakfast, and I'll probably only have it as a treat, but it is really nice on a lazy Sunday morning. Good call!

Glad you liked it! (Especially since you had to order it.)

I might have some for dessert tonight, too, thanks for the reminder.... :)
