Shamelessly stealing ideas, at least we can share.
What did you do?
What made it great?

Hat store, best idea in the universe, try on fun hats, make fun of eachother, chances abound to peacock, sex next date almost guaranteed. Of course you have to find a reason to "accidentally" stumble upon the hat store. It's easy in Vancouver because we have one located in the perfect first date neighborhood, Granville Island.

Shooting range.

For serious.

But they have to suggest it. I've seen it work two ways:

1) genuine shared interest, they get some free instruction, I get to teach. We have fun and go back to my place in immanent need of showers...

2) afraid of guns but wants to overcome it. In essence, this becomes a type of "fear play". There's a great power-exchange dynamic there. Scare the crap out of them for a couple hours then take them home... in immanent need of a shower.

-J (it's called the "porn star bathroom" and it's so pornstar it doesn't even have a door)
Picking nits is still part of bonding.

depends if you have met them in real life or not.

For internet dating, and the first actual meeting, a cup of coffee in a diner with a hard stop of one hour cuz you have to pick up your kids.

After that, I give them enough info (like my web page), and then suggest a walk on the greenbelt.

My goal is to learn about what is between their ears, and see if they can put up with me.

The rest is all details.

Who else said "no"?

Best date I was on involved an introduction to "hashing"...not sure if that was really a date though. Froze my ass off, got cut by and trapped in a lot of briar, waded through waste water in a tunnel under an interstate (while 35 degrees out), climbed over rocks, and nearly had my shoes sucked off in a swamp. But it was still way better than any other date I've ever been on...

Take them backpacking in the winter. 99% chance of snuggle time. Plus, if one of you gets hypothermia you get to snuggle naked.
toeing that ENTP/INTP line. But you can rely on me to be extra obnoxious in most situations...

1st date? Location with an interesting atmosphere and you can talk. In general, provide situations that bring out personality.

Best part is the beer is free the first time and you don't feel guilty after what you just went through. It's full of ENTPs + ESTPs (as far as I can tell, or maybe that's their "beer personality type") Too messy and chaotic for most Js :P (finally, an escape!)

and it makes for a really good first date. If the girl or guy sticks with you after that, you know they're a keeper :D

I think it'd be romantic to go hiking into the wilderness but where there are other people about like a hiking trail. If we were to go hiking in a place where it's completely deserted, like a tropical deserted island, we could go play in the waterfalls when we reach the top then we could go swim in the water all naked :) If we were in the beach I'd like to ride a beautiful horse naked :) Or am I picturing the scenes from Blue Lagoon. I think as a reward for doing all these things with me, my date would get a reward trip to the planet (and the Moon) of his choosing in a spaceship, and spend several days looking back at the Earth and reflect then share our thoughts :)

Having said all that, I think realistically best date I've been on with my ENTP guy was our trips to the Walmart, haha. I think I'd love to go see Grand Canyon then go to San Francisco, it seems like a romantic city.

Little known fact: the "N" in ENTP actually stands for naked.

I went out with a guy to a restaurant in Milwaukee, WI called "The Aquarium" and ate Lion steak while we watched the dolphins swim.

Same guy, another date we used his fathers manufacturing facility to build stuff. Losts of power tools, etc. Very cool.

Problem was I'd known him since I was a kid, even gone to summer camp with him and had beat him up once. He was G.Q. handsome and rather well off. I guess I couldn't handle a guy who was more beautiful than me (and it had a sibling flair to it too).

The whole thing went nowhere and I'm glad for that.

SO true.

Here's my, ahem, ego coming out... I've not been on a great date, ever, I believe. In fact, it's always been the dates that I devise that are the most fun, most interesting, and something worth talking about years later. The men have always had a great time with me when I get to mastermind a date. Alas, I haven't dated very creative people. Most of the time, simple is the way to go, but there's nothing wrong with the occasional great plan or elaborate hullabaloo-ish event.

My ideas are always tailored to suit the individual I'm dating. So, it's probably not material you can use on just anyone.

I like dates that give us something to talk and laugh about, before having dinner and relaxing. Things like museum or art gallery visits are great. Movies or shows are cool, but not as interactive.

The Buskers Festival is held annually in Christchurch, and I always enjoy dates that include watching some of the acts. They're really entertaining, and usually very funny.

One of my favourite dates was at a beach where we were surprised to find a travelling carnival had set up. We had some fun playing at the carnival, and then bought ice cream cones and walked the beach hand-in-hand. Looked at some sculptures by the sand dunes, then headed back to the car. Picked up a DVD, then went home to have dinner and chillax.

And I like exploring odd little shops, and finding great little hole-in-the-wall restaurants with cheap but delicious food, or themed pubs or bars with lots of personality. (Like the jazz-themed cafe/pub we found in Lyttelton the other week, with delicious pizzas named after jazz musicians. It had a courtyard garden out the back, where their cat was allowed to wander freely. The staff were really friendly, the music was great and the atmosphere was wonderful. I'll definitely go back there.)

And the meteorite is a source of the light, and the meteor's just what we see

And the meteoroid is a stone that's devoid of the fire that propelled it to thee
And the meteorite's just what causes the light, and the meteor's how it's perceived
And the meteoroid's a bone thrown from the void that lies quiet in offering to thee

I second this

This is how I like to roll
A child, however, who had no important job and could only see things as his eyes showed them to him, went up to the carriage.
"The Emperor is naked," he said.

Hm, how about eating bacon naked? Best of both worlds!
I want to understand everything, try everything once, travel everywhere including through space and time, and solve all of the world's problems. I want it all! (In the meantime, settling for a good job and good friends....)

I'm highly considering asking this chick out to the regular movie-type thing, followed by heading to a hookah bar on a Saturday night(Belly dancers and free shisha refills 'til 11:00 pm!). I love the vibe and it's totally an awesome setting to end up at the end of the night.

I should probably get more creative than just a movie though... Hm...
